PRO, President’s Resource
Organization, was founded by Ray Silverstein, a small business
expert and author with more than three decades of experience.
Silverstein’s belief in the power
of peer groups dates back to the 1980s, when—as the CEO of a
mechanic’s hand tool manufacturing business—he joined one of the
earliest mastermind groups. Using the knowledge he acquired
there, he promptly grew his company into a multi-million dollar
operation, then sold it in 1993, before going on to create PRO.
Since then, Silverstein has
facilitated more than 1,200 peer advisory board meetings in
Chicago and Phoenix.
As the result of what he learned in
peer groups, Silverstein has written
two books The
Best Secrets of Great Small Businesses, published by
Sourcebooks, Inc., and The Small Business Survival Guide: How
to Survive (and Thrive) During Tough Times. He is also a
columnist for Entrepreneur online, the Phoenix
Business Journal, and the Business Ledger in suburban
Chicago.
In addition, he teaches would-be
facilitators how to create, build and maintain their own
peer advisory board businesses.
Unlike similar programs, his is not a franchise, but rather a
straightforward training program…no strings attached!
Silverstein talks to hundreds of
small business owners every month, sharing and collecting ideas
and experiences on every aspect of running a small business.
As a result, he’s earned an advanced “MPB” (Master of Practical
Business) degree. He is available for
speaking engagements.
As he likes
to say, “All of us are smarter than one of us.”
